Your goals, your plan

Start with what you want to accomplish.

Retirement opens up time for the people, experiences and interests that matter to you. A thoughtful income plan brings together Social Security, pensions, savings and investments to support that next chapter.

Annuities can add a source of retirement income, including payments designed to last a lifetime. AIM helps you explore the timing, features and funding that suit your plan, with clear explanations of costs, liquidity and insurer-backed guarantees.

Planning opportunities

Ways to move your goals forward.

01

Timing the income

Immediate annuities begin payments soon after purchase; deferred contracts are intended for later use. Payments may last for a set period or a lifetime. Spousal and beneficiary provisions affect the payment amount.

02

Fixed interest

A fixed annuity credits interest under its contract terms. A multi-year guaranteed annuity fixes a rate for a stated period. We compare that period, renewal terms and withdrawal provisions with when you expect to need the funds.

03

Index-linked crediting

Fixed indexed annuity interest follows a formula linked to an index; it is not direct ownership of that index. Caps, participation rates and other terms affect credited interest, while surrender restrictions still apply.

Keeping the plan in view

Enjoy an income plan with room for life.

A regular income stream can help support everyday spending and give other assets a distinct role in your plan. We consider travel, family goals and accessible reserves alongside the income you want to establish.

Working with your wealth advisor, we compare annuity options with your other resources and account for inflation, withdrawal terms and changing needs. The result is a recommendation connected to the retirement you have in mind.

Our planning approach

From decision to review

Keep the purpose in view.

We bring existing contracts and new options into a comparison built around your retirement goals. Our recommendation explains the income features, funding and contract terms, including any implications of a replacement.

From application to delivery and ongoing service, we help you understand the next steps and keep the contract connected with your retirement plan.

A few practical questions

Before we get started.

How should annuities fit with the rest of my assets?

An annuity can play a defined role within your retirement plan, alongside investments, savings and other income. We work with your advisors to connect that role with the spending and experiences you want to support.

How is PPVA different?

PPVA is a privately offered variable annuity for eligible clients. We explore its role in long-term planning with your advisors, taking account of the offering’s terms and your objectives.

How do annuities support long-term planning?

Depending on the contract, an annuity can provide tax-deferred accumulation or income for a chosen period or a lifetime. We compare the features with your retirement objectives and review tax treatment with your accountant.

Important considerations

Annuities involve fees, surrender periods and withdrawal restrictions. Early access may result in charges, market value adjustments or taxes, including an additional federal tax before age 59½. Variable and registered index-linked annuities can lose value. Income elections may be irreversible; benefit bases are not cash values. Guarantees depend on the insurer’s claims-paying ability, and fixed payments may lose purchasing power. Tax deferral adds no tax benefit within an IRA. Review replacement costs and any benefits given up with your advisors.
